I have always been a big fan of soda pop. It doesn't matter what kind it is either, and I'll take a Coke or a Dr. Pepper any day and I absolutely love the thought of hearing that fizz as it is being poured into my glass.
It has to be one of my favorite drinks to ingest, and it is sad that I should start thinking about cutting down. The older I get, the more I realize that drinking a lot of soda cannot possibly be that good for me.
A lot of people, when they get my age, start to drink diet soda. For me, the taste is nasty and I can't imagine putting anything that unhealthy into my system. Sure, soda has a lot of sugar in it, but that is more natural than some of the chemicals found in diet.
Drinking seltzer is another thing that I could use to replace my soda habit. They are both fizzy and can be refreshing on a hot day, but they really do not have anything to offer in terms of sweetness. They don't taste that good either.
So, since I've pretty much eliminated regular, diet and seltzer from my list of things that I should put in my body, that leaves me with few options. But, as luck would have it, I have found the perfect solution: Carbonated fruit drinks.
Izze and Fizzy Lizzy's are two of my favorite brands of carbonate fruit drinks. I know there are more brands out there, but, in my opinion these two are the best tasting and offer a wide range of flavors to choose from.
Since they both don't add any sugar to their recipes, it is hard to compare them to your typical style of soda pop. These drinks are basically fruit mixtures added to some seltzer water and then stored under pressure.
These healthy alternatives to regular and diet soda are becoming more and more popular, and they are showing up on store shelves all over the place. You can even get one to try out the next time you go to Starbucks.
